CHS purchases facility in Othello, Wash., to grow market access for western pulse crop producers

Feb 9, 2024

CHS has purchased a facility to expand its dry bean operations in Othello, Wash., to grow market access for western pulse crop producers.

This investment will allow CHS to expand rail-receiving and storage capabilities at its existing Othello plant to provide greater market access to pulse crop producers across the western CHS trade territory.

“At CHS, we are focused on investing in key geographies across our enterprise to provide CHS owners with market access by connecting them to the global marketplace,” says Rick Dusek, executive vice president, ag retail, distribution and transportation, CHS. “We are excited about the access this facility provides to bring pulse crops from Montana and Idaho to Pacific Northwest markets.”

CHS acquired the pulse crops and rail-receiving facility in Othello from Ardent Mills.
